International Street Dance Competition “Juste Debout Estonia 2013”

The long wait is finally over. Juste Debout, the largest and most prestigious urban dance competition in the world arrives in Estonia in 2013.

Juste Debout is hands down the most important event of its genre in the Baltic region in 2013 and a gathering place of the opinion leaders of street culture.

Juste Debout will be the first truly international urban dance event ever arranged in Estonia.

The winners of each competition category of the Estonian pre selection will advance to the world finals in Paris, France on 8.-10.3.2013 to compete for the desired Juste Debout Champion – title.

It will be the perfect platform for the Estonian street dancers to show their skills, share with the other dancers arriving from all over the world and learn from the legends of urban dance.

Juste Debout Estonia will replace on the international tour the Finnish pre selection that has been organized in Helsinki annually since 2008.

Dancer and choreographer Bruce “Ykanji” Sone organized Juste Debout for the first time in Paris in 2002 to support “upstyle” street dance styles (Hip Hop Newstyle, House, Locking, Popping and Top Rock) to balance the scale against several breakdance-contests arranged around the globe. In ten years Juste Debout has become the best known and street credible of all street dance events in the world.

The competition is known of its good atmosphere, good quality dancing and not the least of its judging panel that always consists of well known characters and legends within the industry. So also in 2013.

The competition form is 2 vs. 2 battles in the first four of above mentioned styles and 1 vs. 1 battles in Top Rock. The winners of the Estonian pre selection in each style will advance directly to the Juste Debout World Final in Paris on March 8-10th, 2013 where the 16 best pairs / top rockers in the world in each style will meet and battle for the prestigious Juste Debout Champion – title.

The other 15 pairs will qualify from the pre-selections organized in Taiwan, China, Japan, South Korea, USA, Italy, Poland, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, United Kingdom, Greece, Sweden and France. The final will be organized at the Paris Bercy Arena where the 2012 final attracted more than 18.000 spectators!

The jury consists of international dance super stars Woong (Korea), Hit Master Fish (USA), Bruce Blanchard (Belgium) and Mamson (France).

Juste Debout Estonia will be organized in Nokia Concert Hall and there will be around 400 dancers and 2000 spectators expected to attend the event.
