The Led Zeppelin Session

A tribute to Led Zeppelin will be performed by Lea Dali Lion, Robert Linna, Mikk Tammepõld, Marie Vaigla and Indrek Patte as well as Estonian students who have been selected by nationwhide soloist competition and other beloved Estonian artists, supported by Gustav Adolf Grammar School Director’s band. The band has performed at tribute concerts for musical legends previously, for instance in 2010 at the Pink Floyd T.R.I.B.U.T.E. concert which received extremely positive feedback (watch the clip here: http://youtu.be/F2Pvhq2wJDY). The most grandiose numbers of The Led Zeppelin Session will include the Gustav Adolf Grammar School boys’ choir and string ensemble consisting of youth from all over Estonia. There will be both moments with intimate touch as well as numbers full of energy worthy of Robert Plant.

Unlike a lot of other contemporary mega artists, the members of Led Zeppelin always had an air of mystery and caginess around them in their active years; they were not present in media a lot and mostly talked about themselves only at their concerts. As a surprise, The Led Zeppelin Session will offer a chance to peak into the rock giants’ rehearsal room in the first half of the show and to imagine how exactly many of the songs now in music history were created. The second half of the concert will then again set all the limits free and try to recreate Zeppelin’s amazing live concert as it once sounded and looked like.

The time just before the holidays and New Year is perfect for gathering family and friends and enjoy a musical evening full of nostalgy and flaming rock. The unbelievably authentic numbers will make you feel like you’re at a concert by Led Zeppelin (again).

Suitably for holiday season, the event also features a charity aspect. In the preparation period for The Led Zeppelin Session, a couple of Estonian small music schools will be visited by Director’s band and Led Zeppelin’s music will be introduced to the children. An exclusive and independent workshop will be carried out with each instrument group. The students of the music schools visited in the process will gain a free entry to the concert.
